The text is based on research carried with Italian-Brazilians from
the south of Santa Catarina in Brazil, workers in ice cream shops in
Germany, interviewed between 2020-2024. Objective: The dynamics
of these workers presents issues linked to the identity politics of
their Municipality and the difficulties of life between places. The
peculiarity presented by the cases instigated the exploration of
interfaces of the problems implicit in this migratory movement.
Method: We investigated the construction of paternal identity in
the face of the experience of displacement and the situation of the
children’s stay in Brazil, in the light of Critical Social Psychology.
We analyze the life story of a father who left his daughter in Brazil
to continue his work in Germany. Topics such masculinity, family
arrangements, life plans and the consequences of identity politics for
the relationships and mental health of those involved were explored.
Results: The results showed how paternal identity linked to the
context of financial difficulties can highlight the exacerbation of the
ideological role and belief in performance credited to masculinity.
Such belief in this mythical identity makes it difficult to work through
problems in the present, making impossible to glimpse the future
and the emergence of characters with emancipatory potential.
Diane PortugueisCecília Pescatore Alves

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/312

Objective: Motherhood is an event that profoundly impacts lives of working women, introducing significant changes in the way they relate to their work role, as well as the priorities and demands of their personal spaces. From this context, this study explores the construction of work identity among Chilean school teachers who have become mothers after starting their careers. Methods: Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers working in different types of schools located in cities of central Chile. Findings: The research reveals that motherhood introduces tensions in the work lives of teachers, who must balance the demands of their children with the demands of their role in classroom. This process generates a redefinition of her work identity. At the same time, teaching has an impact on her experience of motherhood. Conclusion: It is highlighted that, although some teachers receive institutional support to balance their responsibilities, others face difficulties in their workplaces, affecting their professional development and emotional well-being. Support networks, such as family and colleagues, also play a critical role in managing these demands. It is suggested to delve into policies that favor the conciliation between work and family life.
Carlos Díaz CánepaAntonia Carvajal MirandaFelipe Catalan AravenaFernanda Cerna BarosAntonia Cortés CortésJaviera López Rivero

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/304

The main objective of this study was to identify differences in the working conditions of professional internships between men and women from a psychosocial perspective, analyzing their performance and the quality of these experiences. Special attention was given to the experiences of young women in these contexts, proposing a differentiated approach. Method: a qualitative, biographical approach was employed. In-depth interviews were conducted with 18 young people undergoing internships, from which life stories were constructed to reflect their personal and professional trajectories. The collected information was subjected to content analysis. Results: the findings did not reveal significant differences in the general conditions of the internships, as both groups reported having adequate resources for satisfactory formative development. However, differences emerged in the area of performance perception: women expressed a greater sense of uncertainty and a constant questioning of their own competencies. Furthermore, from an intersectional perspective, it was found that some women, particularly those belonging to specific ethnic groups, living in socially and economically disadvantaged territories, or who were mothers, faced additional challenges. Conclusions: personal trajectories and intersectional social factors give rise to differentiated experiences that shape how students confront and make meaning of their formative process.

MarthaCarla

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/294

Background: The global rise of K-Pop—driven by Hallyu—has
positioned this genre as a key cultural reference for Chilean youth,
operating as a transnational circuit of symbolic production that
challenges local gender and youth codes. Purpose: To examine
how Chilean K-pop fans redefine their identities and challenge
gender norms through their engagement with this global fandom.
Method: A qualitative-ethnographic study combining eleven semi-
structured interviews, participant observation in urban spaces in
Santiago, and digital ethnography on social media; the researchers
analyzed data thematically. Results: The study identified three
interconnected dimensions: (1) Identity and community—the
fandom as a transnational space for belonging and subjective
experimentation; (2) Gender perspective—fans utilize K-Pop to
question stereotypes yet acknowledge the reinforcement of
body standards and sexist dynamics; and (3) Sexual diversity and
inclusion—androgynous representations and safe spaces enable
exploration of diverse orientations and identities. Conclusions:
The Chilean K-Pop fandom emerges as a cultural laboratory where
belonging, resistance, and social critique converge, fostering new
ways of experiencing embodiment and gender and highlighting
ethical tensions related to industrial exploitation and emotional
productivity.
Gabriela Sanchéz BustosMaría-Alejandra EnergiciFernanda Manriquez

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/327

The growing complexity of migratory phenomena demands comprehensive interventions that address both legal and psychosocial dimensions. In this context, training professionals capable of responding to these challenges is essential. Objectives: This article analyzes the teaching-learning process jointly developed by the Legal Clinic for Migrants and Refugees (Faculty of Law) and the Psychosocial Workshop on Legal Psychology (Faculty of Psychology) at Universidad Diego Portales. Although these courses are coordinated, they do not yet constitute a fully interdisciplinary training experience. Therefore, this study aims to contribute to the design of an interdisciplinary training model that offers a more integrated understanding of the needs and rights of migrants. Materials/Methods: The research follows a qualitative, descriptive approach with a phenomenological design, aimed at understanding the experiences of faculty and experts involved in both initiatives. Results: Five key dimensions were identified: problem-based design in complex contexts, continuous improvement and innovation, training needs, teaching methodologies, and challenges and obstacles. Conclusions: The findings highlight the educational potential of interdisciplinarity, particularly in strengthening critical thinking, argumentation, and collaborative work, as well as the need for institutional structures that sustainably support these initiatives.
Guila Ignacio Reyes VAres Capetanópulos G.

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/314

Pablo AlcotaJolanda Jetten

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/328

Relational trauma significantly impairs the ability to trust others as valid sources of knowledge, hindering social learning and therapeutic impact. In this context, epistemic trust has been proposed as a central mechanism of clinical change, although empirical research on its application remains limited. Objective: To explore the available empirical evidence on the use of epistemic trust in psychotherapeutic interventions with individuals who have experienced relational trauma. Method: A scoping review was conducted following the PRISMA-ScR methodology, complemented by the framework proposed by Arksey and O’Malley. The search was carried out across six international databases (PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, SciELO, EBSCO, and Web of Science), including empirical studies that explicitly addressed epistemic trust within clinical contexts. Results: Two studies were identified showing that strengthening epistemic trust enhances the therapeutic alliance, reduces clinical symptomatology, and fosters openness to social learning. Both studies highlight the role of mentalization and the therapist’s communicative coherence. Conclusions: Epistemic trust should be considered an explicit therapeutic goal in the treatment of relational trauma. Further empirical research—particularly in Latin American contexts—is needed to operationalize the construct and evaluate its clinical relevance and public health implications.
Moufarrej RiffRodrigo Maturana MValeria Astudillo A.

https://praxispsy.udp.cl/index.php/praxispsi/article/view/330

Objective: to describe the role and impact that both the therapist's and patient's attachment style have on the therapeutic alliance built in individual psychotherapies with adult patients. Method: The search was carried out through the databases Web of Science, SCOPUS, PubMed, PsycINFO, PsycArticles, Psychology Database, Scielo and Lilacs. Results:Considering the inclusion criteria, 13 articles were selected and reviewed. The results show a great methodological variability in relation to the instruments used in each of the studies and in the times at which the measures were collected, with discrepancies in the findings. Conclusions: Although it is not possible to sustain the existence of a linear relationship between the therapist's and client's attachment styles in the quality of the alliance, it was possible to find some convergences, which highlight that the client's and therapist's attachment pattern can contribute or hinder its construction process. The importance of considering these variables in clinical practice is emphasized, promoting interventions more sensitive to the bonding dimension, allowing to offer patients a corrective bonding experience, favoring the development of epistemic trust in the therapeutic bond.
Nicolás González AranedaAlberto López-Vásquez
