Abstract
Introduction: Malnutrition by excess is one of the main public health problems in our country. New interventions in primary health care (PHC) that consider the psychological aspects involved in its onset, development and maintenance and adjust to the new contemporary realities are required to address it. Webbased mindfulness interventions are novel and promising, given their low cost and effectiveness. However, there is a scarcity of designs developed specifically for PHC users. Aim: The aim of this study was to design a web-based mindfulness program for PHC users with malnutrition by excess (MW-APS). Applied conceptual research incorporating a literature review on PHC, malnutrition by excess, mindfulness and web-based interventions was conducted. Results: The theoretical and empirical background that was considered for the elaboration of the design was discussed. In addition, the MW-APS program is presented, characterized as a brief prevention intervention, of low intensity, which has a selfguided asynchronous web format. Conclusions: The MW-APS program aims to offer a useful and feasible intervention for PHC. It is suggested to apply it to measure its acceptability and effectiveness.
