Abstract
Objective: This study analyzes the labor organization strategies of trans sex workers, based on the conditions in which the sexual service is developed, through the experience shared by trans women in Chile. Positioning itself from a pro-rights perspective that considers sex work as a legitimate labor activity. Method:Through a qualitative approach, seven semi-structured interviews were conducted with trans women who have worked in street- based and indoor sex workplaces. The interviews were subjected to content analysis using Atlas.ti software. Results: The following categories were obtained: a) Multiple voices of the trans experience; b) Structural framework of sex work; and c) Sex work by trans women: its practice and organization. Conclusions: The study discusses the labor organization strategies employed by workers in their work settings, which may be individual and/or collective, and have two functions, to organize their work and provide either personal and/or group care.
