Abstract
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adolescence poses significant challenges for families, particularly in managing behavior, academic organization, and emotional regulation. Psychoeducation for families is a key component of the multimodal approach to the disorder, as it enhances understanding of the symptoms, reduces parental stress, and promotes behavioral management strategies.
To develop a psychoeducational strategy for parents and caregivers of adolescents with ADHD based on scientific evidence, aimed at understanding the disorder and improving family and social functioning. A review of the scientific literature on ADHD in adolescence and parental psychoeducation was conducted, identifying intervention strategies and recommendations used in family support programs evaluated according to eligibility criteria and quality of evidence using the GRADE system. Following the comparative analysis, a psychoeducational guide was designed based on their common components, integrating information about the disorder, intervention strategies, and practical tools for managing ADHD. The findings indicate limited consideration of adolescent-specific needs; therefore, this proposal aims to provide an accessible, evidence-based tool for family support.
