About images

All primary images must be submitted in a manner that does not alter their true nature. We will inspect certain submitted images, as appropriate to editorial criteria. When preparing your figures, please consider the following requirements. This list is not exhaustive:

- Do not enlarge, alter, move, delete, remove, remove or hide any aspect within your image. All adjustments (e.g., brightness and contrast), must be made clear throughout the image.

- Images from different sources should be identified within the figure (e.g., using dividing lines or white space) and not just pasted together.

- Duplicate images should be recognized and used only when necessary.

We reserve the right to request the original images at any time during review or publication. Failure to provide these images upon request may result in a delay of publication or even rejection or retraction.
