Editorial process

Editorial process

PRAXIS PSY receives and publishes unpublished manuscripts written in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words in total and should meet the standards established by APA 7th. Edition (2020).

"Original and unpublished article" shall be understood as those documents elaborated by their authors and not previously published in any printed or digital media. By "published" we mean that it has been made publicly available.

Contributions with the following characteristics will not be accepted: literature reviews that do not adhere to any of the protocols described in the PRISMA Declaration; articles that duplicate previous publications in preprints (ArXivs), conference proceedings, blogs, any other printed, digital or electronic media; theoretical essays or critical reflections. Conceptual articles will be received exceptionally.

Peer review

Praxis Psy operates with a first filter carried out by the editorial team in which the coherence of the subject matter with the lines proposed by the journal and other aspects such as structure and extension is evaluated. Subsequently, a double-blind peer review is performed, where the reviewers do not know the names or affiliations of the authors and the reviewers' reports are anonymous to the authors. Only the editorial team knows the identities and affiliations of the authors of manuscripts before they are published.

In order to ensure blind and external review, the reviewers will not belong to the same program and/or affiliation of the authors. If a conflict of interest is identified, the reviewer will be replaced by another one that meets the indicated criteria.

Submitted papers will be evaluated by two or more experts, who will be asked to evaluate them through a guideline that contains quality criteria (relevance, coherence, consistency, degree of originality, among others), as well as whether the work is clear enough for publication. In case of major discrepancies between reviewers, we will contact a third reviewer or a member of the editorial team to deliver a final decision.

The editors will reach a decision based on these reports and, when necessary, consult with members of the Editorial Team.

All publications should be subject to this procedure, including manuscripts received for thematic issues.
