Guidelines for Authors
Papers
All authors need to register in the journal to be able to make submissions, or if they are already registered they can simply log in and start the process. Authors must include their ORCID.
Praxis Psy does not receive contributions with the following characteristics: Literature reviews that do not adhere to any of the protocols described in the PRISMA Statement https://www.prisma-statement.org, articles that duplicate previous publications in preprints (ArXivs), conference proceedings, blogs, any other printed, digital or electronic media; exceptionally, conceptual articles will be received.
The manuscripts submitted to Praxis Psy, should not be considered for submission elsewhere.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their manuscript complies with all the elements of the checklist. Otherwise, the documents will be rejected.
Guidelines for papers
General: Languages: English, Portuguese or Spanish; Abstracts: English, Portuguese or Spanish, depending on the main body’s language (min. 150, max. 200 words); Keywords: English, Portuguese or Spanish, depending on the main body’s language (max. 5 keywords).
Structure: Empirical and review papers should be compiled in the following order: title; abstract; keywords; introduction; theoretical framework; materials and methods; results; discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages).
Abstract: A concise and structured abstract is required (maximum length 200 words). The abstract should indicate briefly the aim of the investigation, the methodological approach, main results and conclusions. The abstract should be self-contained and must provide a translation to Spanish.
Keywords: Spanish or Portuguese depending on the manuscript’s language, and English is required. Maximum 5 words.
Word Limits: Please include a word count for your paper. A typical paper for this journal should be 8000 words, including tables, references, figure captions, endnotes.
Style Guidelines: Any spelling style is acceptable so long as it is consistent within the manuscript. Please use double quotation marks, except where “a quotation is ‘within’ a quotation”. Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks. Section headings should be concise.
Blind peer review: Because the identity of authors is concealed from reviewers (because the process of reviewing is a blind peer review), information about the authors must not be included in any part of the manuscript (for example, names, affiliations and references that can be used to identify any author). Each manuscript should contain a separate title page containing:
(1) Title
(2) Author(s) name(s)
(3) The author’s full address, including telephone number and e-mail
(4) Acknowledgments and/or Conflict of interest
Authorship: One author should be identified as the corresponding author. Please disclose any affiliations involved in the research. If any of the named co-authors changes their affiliation during the peer review process, the new affiliation can be named as a footnote. Please note that no changes to affiliation can be made after the manuscript is accepted. Please note that the email address of the corresponding author will normally be displayed in the article in PDF format (depending on the journal style) and the online article. Every person who has a reasonable claim to authorship must be named in the manuscript as co-authors; the corresponding author must be authorized by all co-authors to act as an agent on their behalf in all matters about the publication of the manuscript, and the order of names should be agreed by all authors.
Funding: Please supply all details required by any funding and grant-awarding bodies as an Acknowledgement on the title page of the manuscript, in a separate paragraph, as follows:
For single agency grants: "This work was supported by the [Funding Agency] under Grant [number xxxx]."
For multiple agency grants: "This work was supported by the [Funding Agency 1] under Grant [number xxxx]; [Funding Agency 2] under Grant [number xxxx]; and [Funding Agency 3] under Grant [number xxxx]."
