Analytical Act, Poetic Act, a Significant Approximation Between O. Paz and J. Lacan

Abstract

The aim of this short article is to introduce an original relation between psychoanalysis and poetry. With this purpose, I will focus mainly on the developments made around the notion of ‘act’ in the works of Jaques Lacan and Ocatvio Paz. On the one hand I will take as reference the seminar "the analytic act", where the French psychoanalyst is going to tackle with impetus the question of "analytic act". And on the other, the essayistic works done by Octavio Paz in "The bow and the lyre", around the question of the poetic saying. From this connection between two fields of dissimilar knowledge, the pretension arises to introduce a reading of the analytic act that emphasizes its proximity to the poetic act.
